On June 3, 2025, the Peace, Conflict, and Democracry Team Research Group held a virtual coordination meeting via Microsoft Teams as part of its routine check-in on the progress of an ongoing research project. The meeting was attended by several lecturers—Andi Ahmad Yani, Agussalim Burhanuddin, Elvita Bellani, Muh. Adnan Kasogi, and Marwan—along with researcher Yunisa Syalom.
The primary purpose of the meeting was to determine a specific focus for the research, ensuring alignment among the team members before entering the next phase. Discussions revolved around the thematic scope of the study, research questions, and how best to integrate previous findings into the current project framework.
One of the key outcomes of the session was the agreement to convene an in-person follow-up meeting on June 5, 2025. This meeting, to be held at the CPCD Meeting Room at Hasanuddin University, will delve into the design of research instruments and finalize a comprehensive timeline. The focus will include detailed planning for field preparation, data collection, and the drafting of scholarly articles based on the study.
Additionally, the team agreed to use prior research—particularly studies on conflict mapping in South Sulawesi—as foundational material. These earlier findings will serve as valuable baseline data and contextual references for the current study, which aims to contribute meaningful insights into regional conflict dynamics.
The meeting reflects CPCD’s commitment to collaborative, well-structured research processes in the field of peace, conflict, and democracy, ensuring each step is methodically planned and based on empirical groundwork.
