About

Profil

The Social Capital Research Group at Universitas Hasanuddin focuses on exploring the transformative potential of social capital in driving sustainable rural and agricultural development. Social capital, encompassing trust, networks, and collaboration within communities, plays a pivotal role in strengthening resilience, fostering innovation, and addressing challenges such as climate change, economic instability, and social inequalities.

Through our interdisciplinary research, we examine how social capital facilitates resource sharing, knowledge co-creation, and adaptive capacities in rural communities. By integrating traditional practices with modern approaches, we develop evidence-based strategies and innovative models that contribute to sustainable livelihoods and inclusive growth.

Our work not only informs academic discourse but also shapes policies and practices that directly benefit communities. By collaborating with policymakers, researchers, and practitioners at local, national, and international levels, we aim to bridge the gap between research and real-world applications, ensuring long-term development impacts.

As part of Universitas Hasanuddin’s commitment to community empowerment, the Social Capital Research Group serves as a hub for innovation and collaboration, paving the way for resilient and thriving rural societies.
