Initial Observations and Explored Research Opportunities

The Maritime Governance and Sustainable Governance Research Group conducted initial observations and explored research opportunities related to the issue of the Sustainability of Pinisi Boats.
This observation was conducted in the Pinisi boat village in Bulukumba, specifically in Tana Beru Village, which is the center of traditional Pinisi boat manufacturing in Indonesia. The village is known as the β€œhome” or place of origin of Pinisi boatbuilding, which is a UNESCO intangible cultural heritage since 2017. The people of Tana Beru, who mostly work as shipbuilders, have knowledge and skills that have been passed down from generation to generation in the Pinisi shipbuilding process.
