A livestock will produce main products in the form of: eggs, meat and milk (30%), but also produce other waste/by-products (70%) in the form of: leather, fur, wool, feces, urine, offal, blood, fat, bones, horns and other auxiliary organs such as: digestive tract, respiratory, reproductive). Livestock waste/by-products consist of edible (commonly consumed) or inedible (not commonly consumed) products. Our research team explores more widely and deeply the potential of livestock waste/by-products through a biotechnology and process technology approach to be utilized in the health, pharmaceutical, food, engineering and renewable energy industries.
