The Disability Research Group (DRG) at Universitas Hasanuddin is dedicated to advancing scholarly inquiry into disability within higher education, public policy, and social development. DRG functions as a research-based division that places knowledge production at the core of institutional transformation toward an inclusive and equitable university system. Its work focuses on understanding disability as a social, cultural, and institutional phenomenon, and on generating evidence-based insights that support inclusive practices across the academic environment.
Mission
- To produce high-quality academic research that informs inclusive policies and services within Universitas Hasanuddin.
- To develop research-based models of an inclusive university that other higher education institutions can replicate.
- To facilitate cross-faculty and interdisciplinary research collaboration in the field of disability studies.
- To strengthen the capacity of lecturers, researchers, and students through publications, seminars, and academic training on disability research
Aims
- To become a university-based center of excellence for disability research in Eastern Indonesia.
- To provide data-driven policy recommendations for internal campus development.
- To produce scientific publications, policy briefs, and accessibility assessment tools.
- To contribute to national and international networks in disability studies and inclusive higher education
