About team

The Disability Research Group (DRG) at Universitas Hasanuddin is dedicated to advancing scholarly inquiry into disability within higher education, public policy, and social development. DRG functions as a research-based division that places knowledge production at the core of institutional transformation toward an inclusive and equitable university system. Its work focuses on understanding disability as a social, cultural, and institutional phenomenon, and on generating evidence-based insights that support inclusive practices across the academic environment.

Mission

  1. To produce high-quality academic research that informs inclusive policies and services within Universitas Hasanuddin.
  2. To develop research-based models of an inclusive university that other higher education institutions can replicate.
  3. To facilitate cross-faculty and interdisciplinary research collaboration in the field of disability studies.
  4. To strengthen the capacity of lecturers, researchers, and students through publications, seminars, and academic training on disability research

Aims

  1. To become a university-based center of excellence for disability research in Eastern Indonesia.
  2. To provide data-driven policy recommendations for internal campus development.
  3. To produce scientific publications, policy briefs, and accessibility assessment tools.
  4. To contribute to national and international networks in disability studies and inclusive higher education
