About POLYCHEM-RG
The Department of Chemistry at Hasanuddin University is known for its multidisciplinary expertise in Physical Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Biochemistry, Inorganic Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, and recent incorporations of Biotechnology and Physics. Expanding on these areas, this research analysis proposes the establishment of a Research Group (TRG) focused on Fungsional Material and Chemical Analysis. This initiative will also emphasize the synthesis and application of Polymers and Biopolymers, with the objective of addressing modern challenges in material science, food technology, genetic engineering, natural material usage, and separation processes.
The Polymer Chemistry Research Group focuses on advancing knowledge and applications in polymer science and engineering. Collaborating across borders with experts and students from Australia and Indonesia, our group aims to drive innovation in sustainable and biocompatible polymer materials, addressing pressing global challenges in healthcare, environmental management, and energy.

Our research group includes experienced chemists, engineers, and materials scientists from Australia and Indonesia, as well as students from diverse backgrounds. Together, we work on various research themes and projects that align with global and local needs in polymer applications.​
Group Objectives:
- Develop functional polymers and biopolymers that can be integrated into various applications, including environmental, biomedical, and energy industries.
- Create polymer/biopolymer-based technology platforms for separation, drug delivery, and biomaterial systems.
- Foster collaboration with industries to commercialize polymer-based technologies.
