Makassar – In April 2026, the Thematic Research Group (TRG) of Nursing, Universitas Hasanuddin, successfully organized an International Guest Lecture entitled “Advanced Nursing Technology in Clinical and Academic Settings” as part of its ongoing commitment to fostering global academic engagement and strengthening international collaboration in nursing education and research.
The activity was conducted in collaboration with Toshiaki Takahashi, Ph.D., RN, a distinguished nursing scholar from Yokohama City University, Japan, one of TRG of Nursing’s international academic partners. The event was integrated into the Health Information Systems (Sistem Informasi Kesehatan/SIK) course and attended virtually by 118 fourth-semester nursing students on Wednesday, April 22, 2026.
This international guest lecture served as a strategic platform for connecting students with global developments in healthcare technology and nursing innovation. During the session, Dr. Takahashi shared valuable insights regarding the application of advanced nursing technologies in both clinical and academic environments, highlighting the growing role of digital health systems, nursing informatics, telehealth, artificial intelligence, and technology-enhanced patient care in modern healthcare delivery.
The initiative reflects the vision of TRG of Nursing Universitas Hasanuddin in creating meaningful academic experiences that bridge classroom learning with international expertise. By involving undergraduate nursing students directly in discussions with global scholars, TRG aims to cultivate future nurses who are prepared to navigate increasingly technology-driven healthcare systems and contribute to evidence-based practice at both national and international levels.
