Apply TRG
Requirements
  1. Chaired by Professor or Head Lector with H-index scopus min 5 (five) for the field of science and min 2 (two) for the fields of social, humanities, and arts;
  2. Have at least 2 (two) Unhas lecturer members with NIDN or NIDK;
  3. Each lecturer may be a member of a maximum of 2 (two) in different TRGs;
  4. Have at least 1 (one) graduate student with ongoing status (prioritized doctoral students) where the TRG chair acts as a promoter or chief supervisor;
  5. The name of the TRG is a maximum of 4 words (excluding the word ‘research group’ and connecting words such as and/or/of
  6. Have at least 1 (one) international research collaborator with the title of Dr. (only allowed in 1 (one) TRG); and
  7. TRG has a comprehensive research roadmap
Facilities

The facilities provided to TRG are:

  1. Receive seed funds from Unhas;
  2. Get priority in utilizing funding from DAPT, WCU programs, IKU, etc;
  3. Facilitated to apply for research grants from various sources (national and international);
  4. Facilitated access to funding from the results of cooperation with local governments, industry, etc;
  5. Prioritised for the implementation of international cooperation; and
  6. Facilitated to use of the Unhas laboratory under UKK

Universitas Hasanuddin (UNHAS), as one of the leading public universities in Indonesia, has a strong commitment to continuously improving the quality of education, research, and community service. One of the key strategies to achieve this goal is to strengthen the research capacity of each faculty through the formation of Thematic Research Groups (TRG) that are focused, productive, and impactful.

A quality TRG will not only produce reputable scientific publications in international journals, but will also encourage innovation, technology development, and solutions to various problems in society. In addition, an active and widely networked research group will enhance UNHAS’ academic reputation, attract international students and lecturers, and strengthen collaboration with national and global partners.

The TRG will be led by a leader and integrated with several strategic programs, for example:

  1. Thematic research group (TRG);
  2. Post-graduate student recruitment;
  3. Young researcher recruitment;
  4. International collaborations (research and publication);
  5. WCU and IKU (KPI) programs; and
  6. Laboratory and facilities accessible

Thus, the program will be Integrated Multi-Programme for Academic Triumph (IMPACT) as shown in the image below

 

Key Goals and Objectives of TRGs:

  • Enhance Research Capacity: Strengthen the research capabilities of UNHAS faculties by fostering collaboration and expertise in specific research areas.
  • Produce High-Quality Publications: Generate reputable scientific publications in international journals, contributing to the dissemination of knowledge and the university’s academic reputation.
  • Drive Innovation and Technology Development: Encourage innovation, technology development, and the creation of solutions to address societal challenges.
  • Foster International Collaboration: Enhance UNHAS’ academic reputation, attract international students and lecturers, and strengthen collaboration with national and global partners through active research networks.
  • Support Strategic Programs: Integrate with strategic programs such as postgraduate student recruitment, young researcher recruitment, international collaborations, WCU and IKU (KPI) programs, and laboratory and facility accessibility.

  • Focused Research Themes: tRGs concentrate on specific research areas to foster expertise and collaboration among researchers.
  • Productivity and Impact: tRGs actively engage in research activities, producing high-quality outputs that contribute to knowledge advancement and societal impact.
  • Leadership and Collaboration: tRGs are led by a designated leader and promote collaboration among researchers within and outside UNHAS.
  • International Orientation: tRGs actively seek international collaborations to enhance research quality, attract international students and lecturers, and expand research networks.
  • Integration with Strategic Programs: tRGs align with UNHAS’ strategic programs to maximize their impact on research capacity, education quality, and community service.

 

In summary, TRGs at UNHAS represent a strategic approach to strengthening research capacity, fostering innovation, and enhancing the university’s academic reputation through focused, productive, and impactful research groups dedicated to addressing societal challenges and advancing knowledge in specific research areas.
