The Nursing Management & Healthcare Quality Research Group, Universitas Hasanuddin, is proud to announce the commencement of the research project “NOKEN Nursing Care: An Innovative Capacity-Building Model Integrating Papuan Indigenous Wisdom to Enhance Healthcare Delivery in Remote Settings” for the 2025-2026 period.
Led by Prof. Rini Rachmawaty, S.Kep., Ns., MN., Ph.D., Leader of Nursing Management & Healthcare Quality Research Group, Universitas Hasanuddin, as Principal Investigator, this research is funded through the I-Core A – Post Graduate Research (PGR) scheme under the EQUITY (Enhancing Quality Education for International University Impact and Recognition) Program by LPDP, Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology of Indonesia.
The project features an international collaboration with Prof. Janet Wong Yuen-ha, PhD, RN, APN, FHKCHSE, FCHSM, FAAN, Dean of the School of Nursing and Health Studies at Hong Kong Metropolitan University, alongside research team members Dr. Yuliana Syam, S.Kep., Ns., M.Si., and Natalia Mabel, S.Kep., Ns. (Master’s Student) from Universitas Hasanuddin.
This research aims to develop a culturally grounded nursing care model that integrates Papuan indigenous wisdom to enhance healthcare quality and strengthen nursing capacity in remote and underserved areas.
