On June 16, 2025 the Institute for Research and Community Service (LPPM) Hasanuddin University successfully conducted the contract signing ceremony for research funding recipients under the BIMA (Basis Informasi Penelitian dan Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat) program – Master’s Thesis Research Scheme 2025.
Among the distinguished recipients, the Nursing Management Healthcare Research Group led by Rini Rachmawaty, S.Kep., Ns., MN., Ph.D, along with team members Syahrul, S.Kep., Ns., M.Kes., Ph.D and Khadeejah Eka Yulianti, S.Kep., Ns, officially signed the research contract for their innovative project:
“COAST-Nurse Model: Inovasi Edukasi untuk Akselerasi Kompetensi Perawat Daerah Pesisir”
This strategic research addresses critical healthcare challenges in coastal regions through innovative nursing education approaches. The COAST-Nurse Model (Community Oriented, Affordable, Accessible-technology, Nursing Education Model) is designed to overcome geographical barriers, limited educational access, and technological infrastructure constraints that coastal area nurses face. This innovation aims to enhance nursing competencies and improve healthcare service quality in underserved coastal communities.
The research funding is provided through the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology (Kemendikbudristek) under Director’s Decree No. 0419/C3/DT.0500/2025, dated May 22, 2025.
This contract signing represents a significant step forward in addressing healthcare equity and nursing education accessibility in Indonesia’s coastal regions, reinforcing Universitas Hasanuddin’s commitment to community-centered research that bridges geographical divides and strengthens healthcare delivery in remote areas.
