The objective of the meeting was to gather input from all team members, including external collaborator Bayu Priyambodo. Prof. Jamaluddin emphasized the urgency of conducting lobster research to support the Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries. Although significant challenges lie ahead, he stressed the importance of finding effective solutions. Bayu shared his experience in lobster research in Indonesia and provided a comparison with practices in Vietnam. After considering all inputs and acknowledging budget constraints, the team agreed to initially focus on surveying lobster and juvenile fishing grounds in the southern part of South Sulawesi. This will be followed by an environmental DNA (eDNA) study to detect the presence of lobster larvae in the water.
