Design of floating structures for ocean energy conversion
Description
The main issue corresponding to the ocean energy conversion is the structure to capture the ocean energy, namely the wave energy, current energy, tidal energy as well as the thermal energy. The floating structure is effective to be used for conversion of wave energy. The efficiency of the energy conversion depends on the wave characteristic and the geometry of floating body.

Design of floating structure for ocean tourism
Description
Ocean tourism such as ship should be designed to prepare some equipment for tourist to enjoy the surface and underwater scenery. On the other hand, ship should also be designed with renewable energy or alternative energy other than fuel energy. The Indonesian traditional wooden boat with some innovation in construction/structures, safety as well as propulsion system can be a good alternative for short distance ocean tourism activities.

Performance and safety of floating structures operation
Description
Performance and safety standard are important for floating structure operation mainly for specific geometry characteristics. Therefore, performance and safety indicators correspond to geometry characteristics and environmental operation are important in order to develop the standard to be applied. Safety devices such as anti rolling tank and damping plate can be alternative ti increase performance and safety of floating structures.

Material alternative for floating structures
Description
Floating structures mainly for energy conversion and ships should be design with alternative material such as composite material or others environmentally friendly material which can reduce the production and maintenance cost. With light material, the floating body may be more effective to conversion wave energy. For ship operation, the ship capacity may increases as the structure weight decrease.
