The study identified key land characteristics significantly affecting maize yield, including precipitation during the growth cycle, soil pH, organic carbon content, and base saturation. Optimal conditions for maize were determined to be a precipitation range of 650-900 mm during the growth cycle, soil pH between 6.8 and 7.0, organic carbon content above 2.2%, and base saturation over 62%. These findings provide valuable insights for land suitability assessments and maize cultivation in Indonesia’s humid tropical regions.
