Welcome to Research Group

The thematic research group “Ocean Energy and Coastal Engineering (OECEng-RG)” focuses on harnessing renewable energy from oceanic sources (wave, tidal and current) and developing engineering solutions to address challenges in coastal and port environments. This interdisciplinary field combines oceanography, renewable energy, and civil engineering principles to promote sustainable development and resilience in coastal regions. By integrating ocean energy extraction with coastal engineering solutions, this research group aims to contribute to sustainable energy production and protecting coastal environments, addressing current challenges and future needs.

Mission

The mission of the Ocean Energy and Coastal Engineering thematic research group centers on advancing sustainable practices and technologies in marine environments. Key objectives include:

  1. Advancing Marine Engineering and Technology: Developing innovative solutions for efficient and sustainable utilization of ocean resources.
  2. Promoting Research and Education: Encouraging scientific studies and knowledge dissemination in ocean energy and coastal engineering fields.
  3. Facilitating Collaboration: Building networks among professionals, researchers, and policymakers to address global marine challenges.
  4. Ensuring Environmental Stewardship: Implementing practices that protect and preserve marine ecosystems while supporting human activities.
