Welcome to our Research Group
Nutritional Epidemiology is a field of research that studies the relationship
between diet and health outcomes in populations. It combines principles
from nutrition science and epidemiology to understand how dietary patterns,
specific foods, or nutrients influence the risk of developing diseases,
maintaining health, or improving health outcomes. Nutritional epidemiology
also plays a critical role in understanding how diet influences health and
disease across the human life course (from conception to old age), dietary
patterns and nutrient intake have profound impacts on growth, development,
disease risk, and overall well-being. This field involves large-scale
observational studies, clinical trials, and systematic reviews to identify
associations between dietary factors and health conditions such as obesity,
cardiovascular disease, diabetes, cancer, and other chronic diseases.
