Transdermal and Transmucosal
Drug Delivery Research Group

WELCOME!

The Transdermal and Transmucosal Drug Delivery Systems (TDTM) Research Group is dedicated to pioneering advancements in drug delivery technologies, with a particular emphasis on microneedle-based and nanomedicine-enhanced systems. Our research explores novel transdermal and transmucosal delivery approaches that improve therapeutic efficacy, bioavailability, and patient compliance. By leveraging microneedle- and nanomedicine-based drug delivery technology, we aim to overcome biological barriers and enable targeted, sustained, and responsive drug release. Our work spans multiple therapeutic areas, including infectious diseases, dermatology, oncology, antifungal treatments, and lymphatic targeting, with the ultimate goals of enhancing drug absorption, site-specific action, and overall patient outcomes.

RESEARCH SUB-THEME

Development of Biodegradable and Smart Materials for Drug Delivery

Designing stimuli-responsive drug carriers (e.g., pH-sensitive, temperature-responsive, enzyme-triggered) for precision medicine.

Optimization of Skin and Mucosal Permeability for Enhanced Drug Absorption

Utilizing permeation enhancers, nanocarriers, and penetration-modifying technologies to optimize drug transport.

Microneedle-Based and Nanomedicine Approaches for Skin and Systemic Disorders

Developing microneedle-mediated drug delivery for cutaneous infections, psoriasis, fungal diseases, and inflammatory conditions.

Hybrid and Combination Drug Delivery Technologies

Integrating microneedles with nanoparticles and implantable systems for enhanced therapeutic outcomes.
