Welcome to our Research Group
Alveolar bone loss is a common issue in dentistry, often caused by periodontal disease, injury, or tooth loss, and demands innovative and sustainable solutions. The Biodental Engineering Research Group focuses on using marine biota from Indonesia’s rich biodiversity to develop biomaterials for dental tissue engineering. By extracting and utilizing bioactive compounds like fucoidan, chitosan, and alginate, the group aims to create advanced scaffolds and regenerative methods to address bone loss. Integrating biology, material science, and clinical dentistry, the group seeks to deliver sustainable and accessible solutions that enhance patient care while promoting eco-conscious practices in dental tissue engineering.
