Data science is a powerful force for addressing the challenges we face across all sectors—health, environment, business, society, and industry. Its ability to solve global challenges is a key focus of strategic discussions and activities in most commercial and government organizations, research institutions, and universities. The Applied Statistics and Data Science (ASDS) Research Group at Hasanuddin University provides a hub for Applied Statistics and data science research, unique training opportunities, and active external engagement. Applied Statistics and Data Science is a field of research that studies the core fundamentals of statistics and machine learning, together with the relevant software. It also studies the applications of these methods in areas such as business, biostatistics, medical statistics and survey sampling. Research and Innovation in the field of statistics and data science as well as the development of predictive models for automation and intelligent systems will also be done in this research group.
