MAKASSAR / VIRTUAL — The maritime industry is the backbone of global trade, and its continuous evolution relies heavily on rigorous scientific research and technological innovation. To maintain high standards of education and operational excellence, academic institutions must constantly evaluate and refine their research initiatives. Fostering this culture of continuous improvement, a significant academic evaluation event recently took place. The core details of this engagement include the Number of participants: 30 persons (reviewers and participants), and the Date of activity: March 11, 2026. Through an intensive virtual seminar, our team leader, Azwar Hayat, Ph.D, proudly served as an expert reviewer for the 2026 Lecturer Research Grants at Politeknik Ilmu Pelayaran (PIP) Makassar, a premier maritime academy in Indonesia.
Scientific progress requires objective, expert scrutiny to ensure that new ideas are both theoretically sound and practically applicable. During this comprehensive virtual session, the reviewer was tasked with evaluating a diverse array of innovative grant proposals submitted by the PIP Makassar faculty. By rigorously assessing the proposed methodology and direct industry relevance of each project, the review process ensures that the national funds allocated for these grants will support research that addresses the real-world, high-tech demands of the modern shipping industry.
