About RENE-RG

Mission

The mission of renewable energy research groups is to promote the use of renewable energy sources and develop innovative green technologies

Aim

Renewable energy research groups aim to develop and improve renewable energy systems, and to support the transition to a renewable energy network for energy security and sustainability.

This research group focuses on the development of renewable energy sources and technology conversion including solar, geothermal and other renewable energy. The research themes as following:

  1. Solar Water Heating (SWH) system including flat-plate SWH system integrated with thermal storage, evacuated tube collectors, parabolic trough collector, small-scale SWH system (spiral-tube collector), etc.
  2. Agricultural solar drying system.
  3. Photovoltaic-based technology applications (photovoltaic water heating system).
  4. Renewable energy-based air conditioning system (ground-source cooling system, solar absorption cooling system).
  5. Other applications (sea water distillation system, cooler box, etc).

On-going Research Activities

  • Development of Solar Water Heating System
    • Storage Thickness Effect of Thermal Storage
    • ETC Design with fin and storage
    • Prototype of Spiral Tube Water Heating System
  • Air Heating System for Agricultural Applications
