Orofacial cleft remains one of the most common congenital craniofacial anomalies worldwide, affecting functional, aesthetic, psychosocial, and economic aspects of patients’ lives. Its multifactorial etiology involving genetic, environmental, nutritional, and healthcare accessibility factors requires interdisciplinary and translational research approaches.

Through a staged research roadmap, ranging from foundational research and technology platform development to applied research and policy engagement, the group seeks to bridge academic research with social interventions and policy processes. Its work is grounded in empirical evidence and aimed at strengthening public reasoning, responsive governance, and social cohesion.
