Non Timber Forest Product Group (NTFPG) is part of forest products other than wood obtained from the Forest. Non-timber Forest Products consist of several classifications such as resin groups, dyes, edible plants, construction materials, animal products and medicines. Non-timber Forest Products (NTFPs) are important for conservation, sustainability and economy. Important for conservation because to remove non-timber forest products can be done with minimal damage to the forest. NTFPs are important for sustainability because the harvesting process can usually be done sustainably and without forest damage.  NTFP research activities are interdisciplinary and collaborative research both in the upstream and downstream sectors.
