About MPRG
Marine Plastic Research Group is an interdisciplinary team of academics, scientists, researchers, and specialists focused on studying the sources, distribution, and effects of plastic pollution in marine environments. The work spans multiple domains, including biology, oceanography, environmental science, chemistry, and engineering, to gain a comprehensive understanding of plastic pollution’s impact on aquatic ecosystems and marine life
Our Mission
Advance Scientific Understanding: To enhance knowledge on the sources, distribution, and impacts of plastic pollution in marine environments. Promote Sustainable Solutions: To develop and advocate for practical, science-based strategies and solutions to reduce plastic pollution. Drive Policy and Community Action: To engage with policymakers, industries, and the public to foster policies and behaviors that reduce plastic waste and its entry into oceans. Protect Marine Life and Ecosystems: To minimize the harmful impacts of plastic pollution on marine organisms and ecosystems by developing and supporting conservation efforts. |
