Problems of maternal and child malnutrition are still high in some countries including Indonesia such as maternal anemia, chronic energy malnutrition, low birth weight, low length weight, as well as stunting and wasting in under five year children. Malnourished children both stunting and wasting is very high in some provinces in Indonesia. The only province with lower stunting prevalence than 10% is Bali Province. On the other hand, prevalence of wasting is almost 10% in some provinces. South Sulawesi and other eastern parts of Indonesia suffer more compared to others. Several nutrition intervention has been undertaken in large scale. However, social determinants are not well recognized and focused during intervention program.
