The Marine Nutraceutical and Cosmeceutical Research Group is dedicated to advancing research on marine-derived products with therapeutic and cosmetic potential, focusing particularly on bioactive compounds from marine algae. Recognizing the unique bioactive properties found in marine ingredients from the Indonesian maritime region, especially South Sulawesi, our group aims to explore, formulate, and clinically evaluate these ingredients for applications in human health and wellness. This initiative is poised to contribute not only to scientific advancement in nutraceuticals and cosmeceuticals but also to the sustainable utilization of marine biodiversity, aligning with broader environmental and economic goals.
Our Mission
To lead innovation in the discovery, formulation, and commercialization of marine-based nutraceutical and cosmeceutical products, advancing sustainable practices and contributing to public health. Additionally, we aim to elevate our research profile by consistently publishing high-quality scientific articles that contribute to global knowledge in this field and enhance the academic standing of our research group and institution.
The roadmap takes you through the journey of developing an innovative fucoidan-based formulation to address both aging and atherosclerosis. Starting with the isolation of bioactive compounds, followed by clinical trials, and ending with scaling up for production and market launch, each step is designed to bring this breakthrough product to life and make a meaningful impact on health and wellness.
