Welcome to Ecotourism and Forest Biodiversity Research Group (ECOFOR)

Forests hold immense biodiversity that supports global sustainability, yet they face growing threats from degradation and climate change. Ecotourism offers a pathway to balance conservation with local development. Ecotourism and Forest Biodiversity Research Group (ECOFOR) was established as a hub for research, innovation, and collaboration in developing sustainable ecotourism while conserving forest biodiversity and empowering local communities.

Mission

  1. Advance multidisciplinary research on ecotourism and forest biodiversity.
  2. Serve as a center for learning and innovation in sustainable ecotourism.
  3. Empower local communities through capacity building and best practices.
  4. Provide policy recommendations for sustainable tourism development.
  5. Build strong national and international research networks

AIM

  1. Produce scientific publications and learning resources.
  2. Develop adaptive models for ecotourism management.
  3. Partner with government, private sector, and communities.
  4. Provide reliable data for conservation and tourism planning.
  5. Foster young researchers and practitioners in ecotourism.
