Forests hold immense biodiversity that supports global sustainability, yet they face growing threats from degradation and climate change. Ecotourism offers a pathway to balance conservation with local development. Ecotourism and Forest Biodiversity Research Group (ECOFOR) was established as a hub for research, innovation, and collaboration in developing sustainable ecotourism while conserving forest biodiversity and empowering local communities.
Mission
- Advance multidisciplinary research on ecotourism and forest biodiversity.
- Serve as a center for learning and innovation in sustainable ecotourism.
- Empower local communities through capacity building and best practices.
- Provide policy recommendations for sustainable tourism development.
- Build strong national and international research networks
