Corn (Zea mays L.) is one of the strategic food commodities that plays a vital role in supporting food, animal feed, and energy needs at the national and global levels. In Indonesia, corn is the second most important food crop after rice, with demand increasing in line with population growth, feed industry development, and bioenergy needs. However, the challenges in managing corn cultivation are still very complex, including suboptimal productivity, pest and disease problems, agricultural land degradation, and climate change’s impact on production stability. In addition, the development of transgenic-based corn resistant to herbicides, pests, and significant diseases has not been widely carried out. This concept is one of the strategic alternatives, as it has been successfully applied in various major corn-producing countries
