The conservation of aquatic macrofaunal biodiversity is critical for maintaining the health and resilience of ecosystems across all aquatic environments. This research group is dedicated to advancing knowledge and implementing sustainable practices aimed at preserving these vital species. By integrating robust scientific research, including DNA analysis, with traditional ecological insights and socio-ecological approaches, we seek to address the pressing biodiversity crisis and promote effective management strategies. Our work focuses on understanding species interactions, assessing human impacts, and fostering community engagement to ensure the long-term sustainability of aquatic ecosystems. Through collaboration and innovation, we aim to create a comprehensive framework for the conservation of aquatic biodiversity that benefits both nature and communities worldwide

Our mission is to address the biodiversity crisis by enhancing knowledge and developing effective tools for the conservation of aquatic macro and megafaunal biodiversity across all aquatic systems. We aim to conduct comprehensive research that includes biodiversity exploration, assessment, and understanding human interactions with aquatic ecosystems. By contributing to existing biodiversity platforms and developing tailored resources, we strive to promote restoration efforts, safeguard ecosystem services, and engage communities in sustainable practices. Through collaboration and innovation, we are committed to creating a resilient framework for biodiversity conservation that benefits both ecosystems and human well-being.

Our Aims

The primary aim of this research group is to enhance the conservation of aquatic macro and megafaunal biodiversity through comprehensive research, the development of knowledge platforms, and the implementation of effective management tools and sustainable practices across all aquatic systems.

 

Our team is composed of passionate experts in Aquatic Macro-Megafaunal Biodiversity and Conservation, working together to achieve excellence in Marine & Fishery research.
